Turkey Trot 10K

Last race of the year, I figured it would be good to get a good run in before eating and laying around the rest of the day! It was a nice flat course out in nampa and COLD!

Barber to Boise 10k

I was literally the last one there on my own bus! I need to start going earlier! Ran this with a few cute clients of mine! We got stuck in some traffic but still did it in under an hour! I originally signed up for this race because I thought there would be pancakes at the end... but not this year. oh well it was still a great race!

Seattle Spartan Beast!

Beast MODE! What?!
Yes I decided I should finish my trifecta this year, It hasn't been the best race year mostly because of my lack of training, but I realized that I wont always be able to to it and that I should take advantage of it while I can. Plus after some research it was a fairly inexpensive trip!
The race was... MUDDY. Easily the muddiest race I have ever run. There had been flood warnings a day or so before and large parts of the race were flooded with water, there was a part that was at least a half mile were we were walking through thigh high water. And miles of muddy terrain, deep, slick , wear you out mud, if that isn't enough there were hills to climb that were so slick you could barely get a grip to get up them. I actually got half way up one before sliding back, there were 2 bucket carries and 2 sand bag carries. I could have done better and look forward to next year because I want to go back and kill that course!

Fit For life half

Got to this race super late, I was starting to worry I missed the last bus. But I made it! It was a nice course through Boise.

Salt Lake City Spartan Super

Well I was not as prepared for this as I wanted to be... I think that is the theme of the years races...It is harder to train with Lucy not fitting as well in a stroller, blah excuses right?! Anyway I went into this race think I just had to keep moving, Not stopping, one foot in front of another just keep moving.
It was the usual spartan style test your limits and push them race! I finished in 3.5 hours, 8+ miles and 27 obstacles. I think I only had to do 60 burpees. Not a bad race for the lack of training! Next year, I'll do better!

Boise Spartan Sprint

Well lets see.... Went into this race with some goals. Came out of it...okay. It was a lot of fun. More then anything it reminded me of why I love to race. I love the people, and the energy. I love how it makes me feel alive a grateful for my health and blessed to have an amazing body that allows me to beat it up over and over again. I missed the usual 3... yup 90 burpees.(monkey bars, multi rig and spear throw so I have some goals for SLC super)
I loved having Kaycee and Lucy there. Lucy was excited to run and race and did an amazing job. I loved watching her go though the stages of racing. The nervousness of the start line, the what did I get myself into mid race and the final feeling of accomplishment, being so proud she did the race.

Bubble 5K

I have this weird need to include my daughter in all that I do. I like to expose her to as many things as possible. I want her to know that she is capable of anything she puts her mind to and that she is the one that can set her limits. Though she may end up in counseling I figure I can say I gave it my best shot.
I signed her and I up for this race and thought it would be a good, fun way to try and introduce her to my race life, more on that in a minute.
I also love to encourage others to race with me and low and behold! I found a willing...somewhat/for the most part excited friend to drag along! Yay! Thank you Shannon and Emily for coming out to play!
So.... the bubble run... aka the thick foam run. Lucy was not a fan. After two color...foam .... pits... She was ready to be done. The foam was at least 7 feet high and 16 ft wide. It was intense. She climbed me like a koala bear and wouldn't let go after the 3rd color stop. Once we were done we stayed and danced at the after party, where they shot the foam out of canons which was more like bubbles. I wanted her to enjoy some part of it... I think the doughnut was all that really made her happy.
Guess this will go down in the might come up in counseling notebook.
Congratulations to Shannon and Emily for completing your first 5K! Here's to many more!
